What should you pay attention to when using a home care handheld rechargeable mesh nebulizer?

2025-06-18

1. What is a handheld rechargeable mesh nebulizer?

The home care handheld rechargeable mesh nebulizer is a portable medical device that uses advanced mesh atomization technology to convert liquid medicine into fine mist particles (usually 3-5 microns), so that it can reach deep into the respiratory tract. It is suitable for the auxiliary treatment of respiratory diseases such as asthma, bronchitis, allergic cough, cold, and nasal congestion. Compared with traditional compressed nebulizers, it has the advantages of being silent, portable, and efficient, and is especially suitable for children, the elderly, and patients who need frequent nebulization treatment.

2. Precautions for use

  • Preparation before use

Check the power of the device: Make sure the nebulizer is fully charged to avoid power outages during treatment that affect the effect.

Correctly install the components: Assemble the nebulizer cup and mask/mouthpiece according to the instructions to ensure good sealing.

Selection and dosage of medicine: Only use the medicine for nebulization prescribed by the doctor (such as budesonide salbutamol, etc.), and do not use oral medicine or injection at will. The dosage of medicine should not be too much or too little. Generally, 2-5ml is recommended. Excessive dosage may cause the nebulization time to be too long or the filter to be blocked.

  • Precautions during use

Maintain the correct posture: sitting or semi-recumbent position is best, avoid lying flat to cause the medicine to flow back.

When using the mask, make sure it fits the face to avoid air leakage; when using the mouthpiece, wrap it tightly with your lips and exhale through your nose.

Control the breathing rhythm: breathe slowly and deeply, avoid rapid breathing, to increase the drug deposition rate. The nebulization effect is poor when children cry, and it is recommended to be performed in a quiet or sleeping state.

Observe the nebulization state: normal nebulization should be uniform and fine mist. If there is intermittent spraying of the medicine or no mist, the filter may be blocked or the power is insufficient, which needs to be handled in time.

  • Cleaning and maintenance after use

Timely cleaning: After each use, disassemble the atomizer cup mask/mouthpiece, rinse with warm water and dry naturally to avoid bacterial growth.

Regular disinfection: Soak and disinfect with medical alcohol (75%) or special disinfectant regularly every week, and do not boil at high temperature (to avoid damaging the filter).

Maintain the mesh filter: Avoid using viscous liquid or liquid containing impurities to prevent clogging. If the atomization efficiency decreases, soak the filter with distilled water and brush it gently, and replace it if necessary.

  • Other important tips

Avoid sharing: The atomizer is a personal care device, and sharing by multiple people may cause cross-infection.

Storage environment: Place in a dry and cool place, avoid direct sunlight or high temperature environment.

Regular inspection: When not used for a long time, charge it first and test whether it is working properly.

3. Applicable population and contraindications

Applicable population

  • Asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) patients
  • Bronchitis and pneumonia recovery patients
  • Children with allergic rhinitis, colds and nasal congestion
  • Those who need postoperative respiratory care

Contraindications

People who are allergic to nebulized drugs

Patients with severe heart failure (doctor's guidance required)

Use with caution when the nebulized solution contains irritating ingredients (such as hypertonic saline)
